If you are going to take someone out riding with you, it’s a good idea to have a spare helmet. In fact, every motorcycle rider should have a spare helmet in their luggage. It’s better to have it than to not have it.
I’m going to show you how to carry a spare helmet in 12 different ways!
Cargo Net
A cargo net is a versatile piece of safety equipment for motorcycle riders. It’s used as a protective barrier between the rider and the motorcycle, and also as a convenient way to transport personal belongings while riding. It’s one of the most important pieces of gear you can buy for your motorcycle.
For a helmet, it’s best to get a smaller size net with a smaller weave so it holds the helmet nice and tight. Make sure the strings of the net are placed evenly over the helmet so it doesn’t slip out.
Modified Cargo Net
The modified cargo net is a great way to keep your helmet and goggles safe from scratches and dents. The only downside is that it takes some time to secure the helmet on the seat and stretch the net over the helmet.
You can use anything to secure the other end of the net to the bike. It can be a piece of rope, a bungee cord, or even a piece of rope with a hook at one end.
Hook Under Passenger Seat
Hooks under the passenger seat are a great way to store your helmet, as well as other items such as your sunglasses, gloves, etc.
Hook your helmet in the D ring on your motorcycle’s passenger seat. It’s a great way to keep your helmet from falling off when you’re riding and not wearing it.
Strap it to a Back Rest
You can use a bungee cord for this. It is easier to secure than the strap but can be harder to tighten.
Bungee cords are an excellent way to secure equipment or gear to a vehicle. They are used in many different applications, from tying down campers’ tents to securing boats to trailers.
Strap to Grab Bar
A strap is not the most secure way to secure your helmet to your motorcycle, but if you are worried about the helmet moving, it may be worth a shot. If you use one of these, be sure to check with your local dealership to see if they will allow you to install a strap onto their helmets.
Helmet Carrier Strap
It’s great for when you’re on the road or going on a bike ride and you need to carry your helmet.
You can also use this with the back of the seat and your helmet, but we prefer to use the caddy strap as it is easy to slide off your seat and onto the ground.
The Caddystrap is made from a durable nylon webbing that is strong enough to hold your helmet securely in place, yet light and flexible enough to be comfortable. It comes with two D rings for attaching the strap to the chin strap.
Elastic Helmet Strap
The purpose of this product is to provide an effective way to secure your helmet while riding, and in doing so, prevent the helmet from falling off.
This strap is perfect for people who wear helmets with a chin bar. The strap is adjustable, so you can adjust the length to fit your specific helmet style. It’s easy to attach and remove.
Carry it on Your Arm
If you’re going to use this method, make sure you wear a padded jacket or have some sort of padding on your arm. If you do this, make sure you don’t hook the chin strap too tight, because if you fall off, you may be able to avoid getting hit by the bike.
If you’re an experienced rider and you decide to do this, we suggest that you have a friend hold onto you to prevent you from falling, or that you wear a helmet.
Backpack
Helmets are designed to protect your head from the elements, so if you can carry your helmet in a backpack, it will give you more freedom. Plus, it will make it easier to carry around when you’re on the move.
It’s actually pretty ingenious. The helmet fits in the bike’s luggage compartment, and the straps are long enough that they can fit under the seat or on the rack.
Oxford Lidlash Helmet Bag
The Lidlash helmet bag is a nifty little gadget that you can use in a variety of ways. For example, you can place the helmet on top of the bag when you are driving around town and when you need to put your hands on the handlebars to do some tricks. Or, you can place the helmet in the bag when you are out on the road for long periods of time and then just remove it when you need to use it.
Saddle Bags
If you have smaller saddle bags, you need to find a way to make them carry a helmet without the helmet falling out. A good option is to get a small bag with a zipper that goes all the way around it. This will allow you to have an entire side of the bag dedicated to carrying a helmet.
Tail Bag
The tail bag is a good way to carry extra equipment when you are riding your bike, or when you are doing anything where you may need to access the contents of your panniers.
We understand that riding with a passenger can be fun, but we think it’s important to be responsible with your gear. We are not saying that you shouldn’t ride with a passenger, but if you choose to do so, you should wear your helmet, even if you don’t need to. You never know when you may get into an accident.
